Day 01:  Arrive Kolkata 

Met upon Arrive at Kolkata Airport / Railway Station and Transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 02: Kolkata

After Breakast you will enjoy city sightseeing our  first stop is the famous Jain temples, followed by the local flower market. Afterwards, drive across the Howrah Bridge to the more industrial area of Howrah and along the foreshore where we will have a panoramic view of Kolkata from across the river. We cross back over the Hooghly River via Vidyasagar Setu (a bridge over the river) and visit the Kali Ma Temple. The original Kali Temple was built more than 350 years ago on this location where Sati, Lord Shiva’s consort, was destroyed by the Sudarshan Chakra.

We also visit the Victoria Memorial, commonly known as the British Taj Mahal. Built using marble from other Indian palaces, including marble once found in the Red Fort in Delhi, this grand, white marble building was built in honour of Queen Victoria after her death.

Day  03: Kolkata – Bhubaneshwar

After check-out, transfer to the Railway Station  to board train to the ‘temple city of India’, Bhubaneshwar. Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, embark on a tour the Parasurameswara Temple which was built in 650AD and is considered to be the best preserved specimen of an early Hindu temple. Later, tour the Rajarani Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known as the ‘love temple’ and is adorned with erotic sculptures of women and men.

Day 04: Bhubaneshwar 

Tour the caves of Udayagiri (sunrise) and Kandagiri (broken) hills as well as the rock-cut Hatigumpha (elephant cave). The caves are part natural and part artificially carved, and they were built during the reign of King Kharavela. It is believed that most of the caves found at this site were carved as residential areas for Jain Monks during the King’s reign. Enjoy touring the three cave sites and discovering the unique inscriptions on the walls of each cave.

Later this afternoon, return to the hotel and have the afternoon free at your leisure.

Day 06: Bhubaneshwar – Puri 

After breakfast and check-out, travel by road to Konark to tour the 13th-century Sun Temple. The Temple was designed to be an enormous chariot for the Sun God Surya. Later travel to the village of Pipli, famous for its handmade appliqué work.

Afterwards, continue your drive to Puri approx. 1.5 hours (60.8km), situated on the Bay of Bengal which is south of Bhubaneshwar. Puri is a very holy city for Hindus as it is part of the Char Dham pilgrimage trail. Puri is also home to one of the best beaches for swimming in India.

Day 06: Puri

After Breakfast visit Chilika lake, spread over 1,100sq km. The lake is an ecosystem with large fishery resources and sustains more than 150,000 fishermen and families living in 132 villages on the shore and islands. The lake is also home to thousands of colourful birds throughout the year, it can be very loud in migratory season with birds that travel from as far as Siberia.

Later, visit the important temples of Gundicha, known as the garden house of the Hindu God Jagannath, Loknath, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva,followed by Sunaragauranga, Daria Mahabir and the Tota Gopinatt temples.

Later this afternoon, return to Puri.

Day 07: Puri

Visit the site of the 11th-century Jagannath Temple, a holy place for Hindus. Non-Hindus cannot enter, but can view from theRaghunandanlibrary opposite. This temple is an important pilgrimage destination for many Hindu traditions, particularly the worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu. It is also one of the Char Dham pilgrimage points, and every Hindu is expected to reach this temple in their lifetime.

Return to your hotel and have the afternoon free at your leisure to relax or possibly swim at the famous Puri Beach.

Day  08: Puri – Kolkata via Bhubaneshwar 

After breakfast and check-out, depart for your drive back to Bhubaneshwarairport approx. 1.5 hours (60km), for your flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival in Kolkata, transfer to your hotel to check-in. The remainder of the evening is free at your leisure.

Day  09:  Depart Kolkata 

After check-out this morning your arrangements end.
