Day 01: Arrive Chennai
Our representative meet you at Chennai International / Domestic Airport, the guest would be taken to hotel where they will be relaxing after the long time in flight.
Rest of the day at leisure, guest can use spare time to visit local markets and Shopping Centre.
Day 02: Chennai
Today morning your local guide meet you in your hotel Lobby and proceed for Chennai City Sightseeing our first stop at Marina Beach, which stretches for over 14km, this making it the second longest beach in the Asia.
Our second stop here Fort Saint George, constructed by East India company in 1653, it was one of the first strongholds of British power in India. This fort presently used by Government offices. Later Afternoon we would visit Saint Mary Chruch, after we will watch the Kapaleeswarar Temple, the temple dedicated to lord Shivad.
Day 03: Chennai – Kanchipuram and Mamallapuram – Chennai
This morning we drive 64km south to Kanchipuram, the ancient capital of the Pallavas. It is one of the seven sacred cities of India and receive large numbers of Indian and foreign visitors.
The 7th-century Kailasnatha Temple is the oldest and also considered the most beautiful of the town’s temples. The Varadaraja Temple was constructed by King of Vijayanagara in the 16th Century. The main attraction of Temple is an elephant shaped rock. There more temples the Ekambaresvara Temple and the Vaikunth Perumal Temple. Kanchipuram sarees and silk textile are famous around the world before leaving Kanchipuram we would visit the Shreenivas Silk House.
Later we proceed for Mahabalipuram to see the rock carvings which date from the 7th and 8th centuries. Here you will get opportunities to see Shore Temple, the Panch Pandava Rathas and Varaha Cave before back to chennai.
Day 04: Chennai to Mysore ( By Train)
We rise early this morning to catch our day train, the Shatabdi Express, to Mysore.
Upon arrival in Mysore Railway Station and met by our local representative and Transfer to our Hotel, afternoon visit the Maharaja’s Palace, built between 1911, here still royal family lives. Here we will see Art Gallery and climb on the 1062 M high Chamndi Hill by drive to see 12th Century Sri Chamundeshwari Temple. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu Lady Goddess Durga and offers a impressive view of Mysore city.
Day 05: Mysore to Coonoor (148 Kms / 3-4 Hrs)
Today we drive to the beautiful hill station of Coonoor, situated on the Western Ghats. Coonoor is the is the part of the state of Tamil Nadu and it is famous for a variety of flowers and different kinds of birds. Our Hotel is away from the town centre, provide us to appreciate the peacefulness and beautiful scenery here.
Day 06: Coonoor – Ooty – Conoor
This morning we catch the miniature, narrow gauge Toy Train from Coonoor and travel 18km to Ooty, another Nilgiri hill station also known as the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’.
Ooty was found by the British in the early 19th Century to use for summer headquarters of the Madras Government. Until two decades ago, We will visit Ooty Club, terraced Botanical Gardens and Stone Churches and The Botanical Gardens were created in 1847 by British and main attraction of garden is 20 million year old fossilized tree. Later this afternoon back to Hotel
Day 07: Coonoor to Munnar (226 Kms / 5-6 Hrs)
We have a long day of driving today through windy and hilly roads as we continue our descent from the highlands and head to Munnar, a hill station with vast expanses of tea plantations, sitting at an altitude of 1,524m. Upon arrival in Munnar we check into our hotel.
Day 08: Munnar to Thekkady (96 Kms / 2-3 Hrs)
Before leaving Munnar this morning, we visit a local tea plantation and the Tata Tea Museum to learn about the timeless cultivation of tea.
Afterwards we start our journey to next destination Thekkady, where Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is located. Periyar is South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary.
Day 09: Thekkady – Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Today morning you will take short walk with your local guide, inside the park you would searching for local wildlife such as elephants, wild dog, barking deer, mouse deer or the rarely seen tiger.
Today afternoon is free to enjoy seeing beautiful nature of park, today evening would see Kalaripayattu show.
Day 10: Thekkady to Alleppey HB (140 Kms / 3-4 Hrs)
This morning we leave Thekkady and drive to Pallathururuthy (Houseboat). On arrival we board our houseboat, We will enjoy dinner on board and stay overnight on the houseboat.
Day 11: Alleppey to Kochi (65 Kms / 2-3 Hrs)
After breakfast we disembark and drive to Kochi. En route we stop at the local market in Alleppey, a coir factory – a fibre obtained from the husk of a coconut, and the Kokkothamangalam Church. We enjoy an authentic Christian Kerala lunch before continuing to Kochi.
Day 12: Kochi
Today after breakfast we would explore Kochi with our local Guide. We would see the oldest church in India, Saint Francis Church. Later we would stop to see Jewish synagogue in the heart of the Jewish Quarter. Later we would visit Santa Cruz Basilica and from here we view Chinese fishing nets.
This evening we enjoy a Kathakali dance performance,
Day 13: Kochi to Kovalam (215 Kms / 4-5 Hrs)
This morning we drive to Kovalam via Trivandrum. Met upon arrival check-in at your hotel and rest of the day is free
Day 14: Kovalam – Trivandrum – Kovalam
Today we enjoy a full day of sightseeing around Thiruvananthapuram. We would visit Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple before continuing to the Zoological Gardens and Museums. Within the gardens we visit the Napier Museum with its bronze collection, Sri Chitra Art Gallery and the Reptile House. Later we visit the Observatory, the Kanakakunnu Palace and Sree Moolamthirunal Shastri Purthi Memorial (State Handicraft Institute).
Day 15: Depart Kovalam
we have check-out from our hotel this morning and transfer to the airport to board flight home.
